The definition of network marketing is a method of direct selling through independent sales representatives who recruit, train and manage a sales force. An independent rep will earn a portion from sales volume and through other incentives. Incentives can be worthwhile. Network marketing can be referred to as MLM or Multi-Level-Marketing.
5Linx is a telecommunications MLM company that sells products and services related to the internet, telephone and television. The base business model is simple; find customers to switch services from what they’re currently using to 5Linx related products and services.
Can this be done using a traditional Network Marketing sales model?
I believe it can, but there will be some challenges. The first challenge is a lack of financial motivation for reps. In other words, the compensation plan doesn’t allow for a large residual income. This is because you are dependent on customer monthly subscriptions in the $29.95 and above range. Only $4 of that is paid out to sales reps. No, you don’t get all $4. Since this is an MLM business model, you’ll have to sell several plans or recruit a ton of reps just to make a good living.
The company is upfront with saying that most people can make up to $200/month. That’s not very much. This doesn't give people a reason to join 5Linx, but they're being real.
Even though I don't have a great deal of network marketing experience, I have been studying business intimately for the last 11 years. best opportunities to hit the network marketing industry in the last decade. But the second challenge I see right off is the lack of duplicable training.
In other words, how do you recruit, manage and train a downline of 100 people or 10,000 people to get the same results you have? The problem with nearly all MLM companies is that they do not have solid marketing training. The right kind of training should be easy and simple, so that people can step in and replicate the best results.
5Linx does not tout their training, therefore, I cannot reliably say their training is exceptional. But we can infer that if they are promoting a $200 residual monthly income, that their training isn't good or duplicable. If they taught marketing training 5Linx would have a higher average residual income and they don’t.
What Can 5Linx Reps Do to Make More Money?
Recruit, sponsor and sell. Period. You wonder why 5Linx reps don’t make much money every month? It’s because of a lack of marketing training. What are you REALLY marketing? The 5Linx MLM company? 5Linx product? 5Linx services?
The answer is a big fat NO!!! You are marketing YOURSELF first and foremost. Second, you need to build a list of pre-qualified prospects that you will bring into your organization. This list is the SECRET to network marketing.
The top earners in 5Linx build massive lists every month. These people are all pre-qualified leaders ready to hit the ground running. But why do people want to join them and no you? Because they are leaders and people are naturally attracted to leaders.
So, to make money you need to brand yourself as a leader, build a list and attract pre-qualified prospects ONLY. You need to monetize that list and lastly, you need to duplicate your results.
Yes, 5Linx is a viable network marketing opportunity. Especially if they train the proper way to duplicate their top earner’s results and the best way to do that is with a system.
